SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, a person may not knowingly or openly possess or carry a firearm
in certain places or without the express permission of a person or entity with authority over
the premises. This bill would authorize certain persons to carry a firearm in a government
building if access is not restricted or screened by security personnel and would provide for
the carrying of firearms in places of worship under certain conditions. This bill would allow
local boards of education to adopt policies providing for the carrying of firearms by selected
school personnel on school property, at school functions, and on a bus or other transportation

1 07-FEB-17 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, a person charged with a misdemeanor criminal offense,
traffic violation, or municipal ordinance violation and certain felony offenses may petition
the circuit court to have the criminal record expunged if the charge was dismissed or if he
or she meets other limited conditions. This bill would provide for the expungement of convictions
for misdemeanor criminal offenses, traffic violations, or municipal ordinance violations and
certain Class C and Class D felony convictions, including those adjudicated as a youthful
offender, under limited circumstances. Also under existing law, the filing fee to expunge
a criminal charge is $300. This bill would provide for a filing fee of $500 for the expungement

Rd 1 27-APR-17 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, a person who engages in the business of deferred
presentment services must be licensed by the State Banking Department. Under existing law,
when a deferred presentment services transaction becomes due, the licensee may renew or extend
the transaction for one additional term. After one renewal or extension, the licensee may
not enter into a new transaction with the customer until the next business day after the previous
transaction is paid in full. Under existing law, if the customer is unable to pay upon the
expiration of the initial term and one renewal or extension, the licensee may offer an extended
repayment plan of four equal monthly installments. This bill would clarify that a person may
not engage in the business of deferred presentment services with a consumer in this state
