Section 34-21-25 Denial, suspension, or revocation of license; administrative fines; voluntary disciplinary alternative program. (a) For disciplinary purposes, the board may adopt, levy, and collect administrative fines not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) per violation and may institute any legal proceedings necessary to effect compliance with this chapter against its licensees. (b)(1) The board may also deny, revoke, or suspend any license issued by it or otherwise discipline a licensee, or holder of a multistate privilege to practice in Alabama, upon proof of any of the following regarding the licensee: a. Is guilty of fraud or deceit in procuring or attempting to procure a license. b. Has been convicted of a felony. c. Is guilty of a crime involving moral turpitude or of gross immorality that would tend to bring reproach upon the nursing profession. d. Section 9-16-81 Licenses required; application; qualifications; fees. (a) All surface coal mining operations shall be subject to this article, except as excluded in Section 9-16-99. (b) No person shall engage in or carry out on lands within the state any surface coal mining operations unless such person is a citizen of the United States or, if not a citizen of the United States, a person who is legally present in the United States with appropriate documentation from the federal government and has first obtained a license in accordance with this section. Section 34-13-56 Grounds for revocation, suspension, or refusal to issue or renew licenses, etc.; hearing; fines. (a) The board may refuse to license any person or establishment for violation of this chapter. If the board refuses to issue, grant, or renew a license based on a violation of this chapter, including, but not limited to, violations listed in subsection (c), the licensee or prospective licensee may request a public hearing before the board to appeal the action of the board.
