Section 11-54B-9 Collection of special assessment; procedures; claim of lien; interest, penalties, and fees. (a) A self-help business improvement district ordinance shall provide that the special assessment levied on the owners of the real property located within the geographical area of the district shall be collected by the district management corporation. The collection procedures utilized by the district management corporation shall include the mailing of a notice of the special assessment to the person shown as owner of the property on the records of the tax assessor in the following manner: (1) After October 1 of each year, the district management corporation may levy the special assessment for services to be provided during the following calendar year. (2) The assessment shall be due on December 1 and delinquent on January 1 following the October levy. Section 22-40A-3 Definitions. The following terms shall have the following meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) APPROVED. Authorized, certified, permitted by, or meets standards of a regulatory authority. (2) AUTHORIZED DISPOSAL. Section 32-8-84 Unclaimed motor vehicles; suspension of registration of stolen or converted vehicles. (a) The following shall be considered an unclaimed motor vehicle: (1) A motor vehicle left unattended on a public road or highway for more than 48 hours. (2) A motor vehicle, not left on private property for repairs, that has remained on private or other public property for a period of more than 48 hours without the consent of the owner or lessee of the property. (3) A motor vehicle, left on private property for repairs, that has not been reclaimed within 48 hours from the latter of either the date the repairs were completed or the agreed upon redemption date.
