Section 11-86A-19 Limited liability. The recovery of damages under any judgment against an authority or an officer, agent, or employee acting within the line and scope of his or her duties with the authority shall be limited to one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for bodily injury or death for one person in any single occurrence. Recovery of damages under any judgment against an authority shall be limited to three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) in the aggregate where more than two persons have claims or judgments on account of bodily injury or death arising out of any single occurrence. (a) A violation of the notification provisions of this chapter is an unlawful trade practice under the Alabama Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Chapter 19 of this title, but does not constitute a criminal offense under Section 8-19-12.
