Section 24-1-64 Removal of commissioners. The county commission may remove a housing commissioner for inefficiency or neglect of duty or misconduct in office, but only after the housing commissioner shall have been given a copy of the charges against him, which may be made by any citizen of the county or by the county commission, at least 10 days previous to the hearing thereon, and shall have had an opportunity to be heard in person or by counsel. Any obligee of the authority may file with the county commission written charges that the authority is violating wilfully any law of the state or any term, provision, or covenant in any contract to which the authority is a party. Section 27-12A-42 Creation of Insurance Fraud Unit Fund. (a) There is created a fund in the State Treasury designated the Insurance Fraud Unit Fund. The expenses incurred by the department in operating the unit, including expenses incurred by the department for providing administrative personnel, legal counsel, litigation support, expert witness, and costs of investigations, shall be paid from the fund. The department may not hire, contract, or otherwise engage the services of private attorneys to administer or implement this chapter.
