Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the Alabama Behavior Analyst Licensing Board; to establish
the board within the Department of Mental Health; to provide further for the qualifications
of the initial board members; to provide further for a quorum; to establish the Alabama Behavior
Analyst Licensing Board Fund in the State Treasury; to require criminal background checks
on applicants for licensure to be performed pursuant to board rule; to make technical corrections
to reference certification by certifying entities; and to provide further for the expiration,

is employed as a correctional officer, firefighter, law enforcement officer, or state policeman.
This bill would also redefine the term "Tier II Plan Member" to exclude a person
hired as a correctional officer, firefighter, law enforcement officer, or state policeman.

SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, the EMS Advisory Board advises the Board of Health on emergency
medical services. Also the State Emergency Medical Control Committee assists the Board of
Health in formulating rules and policies concerning emergency medical services. This bill
would abolish the EMS Advisory Board and would add eight additional members to the State Emergency
Medical Control Committee. One of the additional members would be a physician appointed by
the Alabama Hospital Association and the others would be licensed paramedics appointed by
various groups involved in emergency medical services. The bill would also specify that each

members and that one of those members shall be primarily engaged in teaching, research, or
