As a part of the registration, the owner applies for a number assigned to the vessel. The owner is required to paint or attach the number to each side of the bow of the vessel and to attach decals for annual registration. This bill would require the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to issue five-year identification number stickers to be placed on both sides of the bow of the vessel. The cost of the identification number stickers, upon collection, would be paid to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources earmarked for the operation of the state parks. The bill would further authorize the owner of a vessel to obtain identification stickers supporting any organization authorized to obtain a distinctive motor vehicle license tag.
