Section 32-6-18 Penalties - Violations in general; disposition of funds. (a) Any person of
whom a driver's license is required, who drives a motor vehicle on a public highway in this
state without first having complied with this article or the rules and regulations promulgated
hereunder shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction shall be punished by a fine
of not less than ten dollars ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100), to be fixed in
the discretion of the judge trying the case. In addition to all fines, fees, costs, and punishments
prescribed by law, there shall be imposed or assessed an additional penalty of fifty dollars
($50). This additional penalty of fifty dollars ($50) imposed pursuant to this subsection
shall be assessed in all criminal and quasi-criminal proceedings in municipal, district, and
circuit courts, including, but not limited to, final bond forfeitures, municipal ordinance
violations wherein the defendant is adjudged guilty or pleads guilty,...

Section 27-7-5.1 Licenses - Limited license for motor vehicle rental companies. (a) As used
in this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) RENTAL AGREEMENT.
Any written agreement setting forth the terms and conditions governing the use of a vehicle
provided by the rental company for rental or lease. (2) RENTAL COMPANY. Any person or entity
in the business of providing rental vehicles to the public under a rental agreement for a

Section 32-19-1 Use of electric personal assistive mobility device; operation at night; restrictions.
(a) Nothing in this title or in Alabama law shall be construed to limit the operation of an
electric personal assistive mobility device on public highways, sidewalks, and bike ways of
this state except that a person operating an electric personal assistive mobility device shall
obey all speed limits and shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and human powered devices
at all times. An operator shall also give an audible signal before overtaking and passing
any pedestrian. (b) An electric personal assistive mobility device shall not require a license
plate or be registered by the Department of Revenue. (c) An electric personal assistive mobility
device may be operated at night provided that the operator wears reflectors and a headlight.

Section 32-7-36 Exceptions. This chapter shall not apply with respect to any motor vehicle
owned by the United States, this state or any political subdivision of this state or any municipality
therein; nor, except for Sections 32-7-5 and 32-7-28, with respect to any motor vehicle which

Section 38-4-14 Limitations on use of public assistance benefits. (a) For the purposes of this
section, the term public assistance benefits means money or property provided directly or
indirectly to eligible persons through programs of the federal government, the state, or any
political subdivision thereof, and administered by the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
(b)(1) A recipient of public assistance benefits may not use any portion of the benefits for
the purchase of any alcoholic beverage, tobacco product, or lottery ticket. Any person who

Section 32-5-4 Unloading logs, lumber, etc., on or near highways. It shall be unlawful and
constitute a misdemeanor for any person to unload from a vehicle of any kind in whole or in
part any lumber, logs or any other article upon the highway, or within the limits of the right-of-way

Section 32-5A-86 No-passing zones. (a) The Department of Transportation and local authorities
are hereby authorized to determine those portions of any highway under their respective jurisdictions
where overtaking and passing or driving to the left of the roadway would be especially hazardous
