Section 32-5A-241 Riding on motorcycles. (a) A person operating a motorcycle shall ride only
upon the permanent and regular seat attached thereto, and such operator shall not carry any
other person nor shall any other person ride on a motorcycle unless such motorcycle is designed
to carry more than one person, in which event a passenger may ride upon the permanent and
regular seat if designed for two persons, or upon another seat firmly attached to the motorcycle
at the rear or side of the operator. (b) A person shall ride upon a motorcycle only while
sitting astride the seat, facing forward, with one leg on each side of the motorcycle. (c)
No person shall operate a motorcycle while carrying any package, bundle, or other article

Section 32-6A-1 Operation of autocycles. (a) For the purposes of this chapter, an "autocycle"
means a motor vehicle that is designed to travel with three wheels on the ground, equipped
with a steering wheel, equipped with seating that does not require the operator to straddle
or sit astride the seat, and manufactured and certified to comply with federal safety requirements
for a motorcycle including, but not limited to, Part 571 of Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations.
(b) The operator of an autocycle shall be required to have a regular driver's license and
shall not be required to have a Class M displayed on his or her driver's license or a Class

Section 32-5A-281 Definitions. As used in this article, the following words shall have the
following meanings: (1) BICYCLE. A human-powered vehicle with two wheels in tandem
design to transport by the act of pedaling one or more persons seated on one or more saddle
seats on its frame. "Bicycle" includes, but is not limited to, a human-powered
vehicle designed to transport by the act of pedaling which has more than two wheels when the

Section 32-12-20 Definition; parent or guardian not to authorize or permit violations. It is
unlawful for any person to do any act forbidden or to fail to perform any act required by

Section 40-12-240 Definitions. (a) For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall

Section 32-20-2 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates
a different meaning: (1) DEALER. A person licensed by the Alabama Manufactured Housing Commission
as a manufactured home retailer and engaged regularly in the business of buying, selling,
or exchanging manufactured homes in this state, and having an established place of business.
