Section 24-1-22 Definitions. The following terms, wherever used or referred to in this article, shall have the following respective meanings, unless a different meaning clearly appears from the context: (1) AUTHORITY or HOUSING AUTHORITY. A public body organized as a body corporate and politic in accordance with the provisions of this article for the purposes, with the powers and subject to the restrictions set forth. (2) CITY. Any city or incorporated town in the State of Alabama. (3) COUNCIL. The legislative body, council, board of commissioners or other body charged with governing the city. (4) CITY CLERK and MAYOR. The clerk, and the mayor or president of the board of commissioners, respectively, of the city or the officers thereof charged with the duties customarily imposed on the clerk and mayor respectively. (a) The ALEPA Director shall: (1) Supervise and be responsible for the administration of the policies established by the state supervisory board in accordance with the Safe Streets Act and LEAA regulations and guidelines. Section 11-91A-2 Local Government Health Insurance Board; governance and administration of program. (a) The Local Government Health Insurance Board shall govern and administer the Local Government Health Insurance Program currently governed and administered by the State Employees' Insurance Board (SEIB) pursuant to Chapter 29 of Title 36. The transfer of the governance and administration to the board shall take effect at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2015, and thereafter the board shall take all control and responsibility for the program under procedures and authority set out in this chapter.
