Section 9-8-50 Definitions. For the purpose of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings indicated unless the context clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) WATERSHED CONSERVANCY DISTRICT or WATERSHED DISTRICT. A subdistrict of a soil and water conservation district which constitutes a governmental subdivision of this state and a public body, corporate and politic, organized in accordance with the provisions of this article for the purposes, with the powers and subject to the restrictions set forth in this article. Section 22-29-19 Grants to local public bodies - Applications. Any local public body which is eligible for federal aid, grant or assistance under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act for a portion of the cost of acquiring or constructing a project may apply also to the authority for a grant. If an original director who is required to reside in a particular county is to be selected by means of an election, the board of supervisors who determined that an election would be the method of selection shall call the election.
