Section 37-11-1 Execution and text of compact. The Governor, on behalf of this state, is hereby authorized to execute a compact in substantially the following form with the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, and the legislature hereby signifies in advance its approval and ratification of such compact, which compact is as follows: Southern High-Speed Rail Commission. Article I. The purpose of this compact is to study the feasibility of rapid rail transit service between the states of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama and to establish a joint interstate commission to assist in this effort. Article II. This compact shall become effective immediately as to the states ratifying it whenever the states of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama have ratified it and Congress has given consent thereto. Section 41-9-982 Commission - Composition. (a) The commission shall be composed of 20 members as follows: (1) A member of the Senate appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. (2) A member of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House. (3) The State Superintendent of Education. Section 34-21-126 Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (a) The party states hereby create and establish a joint public entity known as the Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (1) The commission is an instrumentality of the party states. Section 41-9-252 Cahawba Historical Site - Advisory committee. (a)(1) There is established an advisory committee to be known as the Cahawba Advisory Committee, composed of 16 members, 15 of whom shall be appointed by the Governor. The Judge of Probate of Dallas County shall be the sixteenth member but shall be a member ex officio and shall not be entitled to a vote on the advisory committee.
