Section 9-11-156 Penalties for violations of provisions of article. Any person, firm, copartnership,
association or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article or rules and regulations
based thereon shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor and, upon conviction for the first
offense, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $2,000.00 and/or sentenced to imprisonment
for not more than one year; upon conviction for the second or any subsequent offense, the
punishment shall be by a fine of not less than $500.00 nor more than $2,000.00, and/or by
imprisonment for not less than one month nor more than one year. In addition thereto, all
commercial fishing gear, boats, motors, implements, instruments, appliances or things of whatsoever
nature used in connection with the commission of such misdemeanor, if the owner is unknown,

Section 41-16-123 Provisions applicable to certain property held by division. This section
shall apply only to that property that has been held by the division for a period of not less
than 60 days from the date the property is first published in the list of surplus property,
as set out in subsection (b) of Section 41-16-121, and not purchased by any eligible entity

Section 40-23-4 Exemptions. (a) There are exempted from the provisions of this division and
from the computation of the amount of the tax levied, assessed, or payable under this division
the following: (1) The gross proceeds of the sales of lubricating oil and gasoline as defined
in Sections 40-17-30 and 40-17-170 and the gross proceeds from those sales of lubricating
oil destined for out-of-state use which are transacted in a manner whereby an out-of-state
purchaser takes delivery of such oil at a distributor's plant within this state and transports
it out-of-state, which are otherwise taxed. (2) The gross proceeds of the sale, or sales,
of fertilizer when used for agricultural purposes. The word "fertilizer" shall not
be construed to include cottonseed meal, when not in combination with other materials. (3)

Section 9-12-122 Penalty for commercial shrimp trawling in waters closed to commercial shrimping
by law or regulation; confiscation and forfeiture of trawls. (a) It shall be unlawful for
any person, firm or corporation to take shrimp by commercial shrimp trawling in waters closed
to commercial shrimping by law or regulation. "Commercial shrimp trawling" means
the taking or catching or attempting to take or catch shrimp by any trawl or trawls used together
which exceed 16 feet as measured along the cork line; as well as, the taking, catching or
attempting to take or catch shrimp by any trawl 16 feet or less as measured along the cork
line while licensed as a commercial shrimp fisherman under Section 9-12-92 or Section 9-12-93.

Section 25-4-145 Penalties; limitation of actions; collection of overpayments; waiver of overpayments.
(a) Penalties. (1) Whoever willfully makes a false statement or representation or who willfully

Section 40-22-1 Deeds, bills of sale, etc. (a) Except as set out in subsection (b), no deed,
bill of sale, or other instrument of like character which conveys any real or personal property
