Section 37-11A-1 Execution and text of compact. The Governor, on behalf of this state, shall
execute a compact, in substantially the following form, with the State of Mississippi, and
the Legislature approves and ratifies the compact in the form substantially as follows: Northeast
Mississippi - Northwest Alabama Railroad Authority Compact. The contracting states solemnly
agree: Article I. The purpose of this compact is to promote and develop trade, commerce, industry,
and employment opportunities for the public good and welfare in northeast Mississippi and
northwest Alabama through the establishment of a joint interstate authority to acquire certain
railroad properties and facilities which the operator thereof has notified the Interstate
Commerce Commission of an intention to abandon and which are located in any of Franklin, Marion,

Section 41-4-80 Established; functions and duties. There shall be in the Department of Finance
a division of the budget. The functions and duties of the division of the budget shall be
as follows: (1) To prepare and administer the budget, and direct the execution thereof. (2)

Section 8-19-7 Exemptions. Nothing in this chapter shall apply to: (1) Acts done by the publisher,
owner, agent or employee of a newspaper, periodical, radio, or television station or telephone

Section 32-8-87 Dismantling, destroying, changing identity of vehicle; certificate requirements;
insurance claims; "total loss"; removal of identification numbers, plates, etc.;

Section 40-17-371 Cost of collection; distribution of tax proceeds. (a) The Alabama Department
of Revenue shall retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the tax proceeds, less any refunds,
from this additional excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for its cost of collection. The
department may adopt rules and such forms as may be necessary for the administration of the
excise tax provided for in this article. (b) Each month, prior to the remaining payments provided
in this article, up to $750,000 of the tax proceeds from the additional excise tax on gasoline
and up to $230,000 of the tax proceeds from the additional excise tax on diesel fuel shall
be distributed first to the Alabama Highway Finance Corporation for the payment of the principal
of and interest on bonds to be issued by it to finance improvements to the ship channel providing

Section 11-92C-2 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following words have the
following meanings: (1) APPLICANT. A natural person who files a written application with the

Section 22-27-17 Disposal fees; disposition of funds; exemptions; review of records; biennial
report. (a) Beginning on October 1, 2008, the following disposal fees are levied upon generators
of solid waste who dispose of solid waste at solid waste management facilities permitted by
the department subject to this chapter, which shall be collected in accordance with subsection
(b): (1) One dollar ($1) per ton for all waste disposed of in a municipal solid waste landfill.
(2) One dollar ($1) per ton or twenty-five cents ($0.25) per cubic yard for all waste disposed
of in public industrial landfills, construction and demolition landfills, non-municipal solid
waste incinerators, or composting facilities, which receive waste not generated by the permittee.

Section 28-3-190 Levy of tax; collection; disposition of proceeds by localities; enforcement
and administration; penalties; exclusive nature of tax. (a) Levy. In addition to the excise
tax levied by Article 5A of Chapter 3 of this title and the licenses provided for by Chapter
3A of this title and by Section 28-3-194, and any acts amendatory thereof, supplementary thereto
or substituted therefor, and municipal and county licenses, there is hereby levied a privilege
