Section 27-17A-23 Civil actions; liability. The commissioner, the Attorney General, or any
person may bring a civil action against a person or company violating this chapter in the
appropriate court of the county in which the alleged violator resides or has his or her or
its principal place of business or in the county wherein the alleged violation occurred. Upon
adverse adjudication, the defendant shall be liable for actual damages caused by the violation.
The court, as provided by common law, may award punitive damages and may provide equitable
relief as it deems proper or necessary, including enjoining the defendant from further violation

Section 5-25-16 Enforcement and penalties. (a) Whenever it appears to the supervisor that any
person required to be licensed or registered under this chapter has violated any law of this
state or any order or regulation of the department, the supervisor after notice and hearing
may order such person or an affiliate acting on behalf of such person to cease and desist

Section 8-19-11 Penalties. (a) Any person who violates the terms of an injunction or order
issued under this chapter shall forfeit and pay a civil penalty of not more than $25,000 per
violation and shall be adjudged in contempt. For the purpose of this section, any circuit
court issuing an injunction or order under this chapter shall retain jurisdiction, and in
