Section 8-25-1 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall
have the following meanings ascribed to them, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(1) ADVERTISEMENT. A commercial message in any medium that directly or indirectly promotes
or assists a rental-purchase agreement, except for instore merchandising aids. (2) CONSUMER.
An individual who leases personal property under a rental-purchase agreement. (3) MERCHANDISE.
The personal property that is the subject of a rental-purchase agreement. (4) MERCHANT. A
person who, in the ordinary course of business, regularly leases, offers to lease, or arranges
for the leasing of merchandise under a rental-purchase agreement, and includes a person who
is assigned an interest in a rental-purchase agreement. (5) RENTAL-PURCHASE AGREEMENT. An
agreement for the use of merchandise by a consumer for personal, family, or household purposes,

Section 27-7-5.3 Licenses - Limited license for self-service storage facility. (a) As used
in this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) LIMITED LICENSEE.
A person or entity authorized to sell certain coverages for personal property maintained in
self-service storage facilities pursuant to this section. (2) OCCUPANT. A person, his or her
sublessee, successor, or assign entitled to the use of the storage space at a self-service
storage facility under a rental agreement, to the exclusion of others. (3) OWNER. The owner,
operator, lessor, or sublessor of a self-service storage facility, his or her agent, or any
other person authorized by him or her to manage the self-service storage facility or to receive
rent from an occupant under a rental agreement. (4) PERSONAL PROPERTY. Any movable property
not affixed to land including, but not limited to, goods, wares, merchandise, motor vehicles,

Section 8-19A-3 Definitions. As used in this chapter and Chapter 19C, the following terms shall
have the following meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) CALLER IDENTIFICATION
SERVICE. A type of telephone service which permits telephone subscribers to see the telephone
number of incoming telephone calls. (2) COMMERCIAL TELEPHONE SELLER. Any person who engages
in commercial telephone solicitation on his or her own behalf or through salespersons, except
that a commercial telephone seller does not include any of the persons or entities exempted
from this chapter by Section 8-19A-4. A commercial telephone seller does not include a salesperson
as defined in subdivision (15). A commercial telephone seller includes, but is not limited

Section 34-27-81 Definitions. As used in this article, the following words shall have the following
meanings: (1) AGENCY AGREEMENT. A written agreement between a broker and a client which creates
a fiduciary relationship between the broker and a principal, who is commonly referred to as
a client. (2) BROKER. Any person licensed as a real estate broker pursuant to Articles 1 and
2 of this chapter. (3) BROKERAGE AGREEMENT. A specific written agreement between a brokerage
firm and a consumer which establishes a brokerage relationship. The brokerage agreement shall
contain a statement of the terms and conditions of the brokerage services to be provided.

Section 5-26-3 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
(1) DEPOSITORY INSTITUTION. The term "depository institution" has the same meaning
as in Section 3 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, and includes any credit union. (2) FEDERAL
BANKING AGENCIES. The term "federal banking agencies" means the Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System, the Comptroller of the Currency, the Director of the Office

Section 5-19-1 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have
the following meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) FINANCE CHARGE.
The sum of all charges, payable directly or indirectly by the person to whom credit is extended,

by the apparent owner during the time set forth below for the particular property: (1) Traveler's
