Section 16-6E-3 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE and ACADEMIC CONDITIONS. As used in subdivision (1) of Section 16-6E-4, may include, but not be limited to, definitions of the same or similar terms and related criteria, circumstances, and conditions identified and described elsewhere in the Code of Alabama 1975. The exercise of intervention authority under this chapter is subject solely to the substantive and procedural preconditions and requirements set forth herein, the existence of any different, conflicting, or inconsistent provisions elsewhere in the Code of Alabama 1975, notwithstanding. Section 5-13B-103 Supervision and enforcement. (a) The superintendent shall have all of the powers granted to him or her by the laws of this state to the extent appropriate to enable him or her to supervise each Alabama state branch, Alabama state agency, or Alabama representative office. Section 8-32-6 Prohibited acts. (a) A provider shall not use in its name the words insurance, casualty, surety, mutual, or any other words descriptive of the insurance, casualty, or surety business; or a name deceptively similar to the name or description of any insurance or surety corporation, or to the name of any other provider. Section 27-1-17 Limitation periods for payment of claims; overdue claims; retroactive denials, adjustments, etc.; penalties.
