Section 7-1-201 General definitions. (a) [Reserved]. (b) Subject to additional definitions
contained in the subsequent articles of this title which are applicable to specific articles
or parts thereof, and unless the context otherwise requires, in this title: (1) "Action,"
in the sense of a judicial proceeding, includes recoupment, counterclaim, set-off, suit in
equity, and any other proceeding in which rights are determined. (2) "Aggrieved party"
means a party entitled to pursue a remedy. (3) "Agreement," as distinguished from
"contract," means the bargain of the parties in fact, as found in their language
or inferred from other circumstances, including course of performance, course of dealing,
or usage of trade as provided in Section 7-1-303. (4) "Bank" means a person engaged
in the business of banking and includes a savings bank, savings and loan association, credit

Section 34-13-11 Authorizing agent; right of disposition. (a) A person, who is at least 18
years of age and of sound mind, may enter into a contract to act as authorizing agent and
direct the location, manner, and conditions of disposition of remains and arrange for funeral
goods and services to be provided upon death. Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b),
the right to control the disposition of the remains of a deceased person as an authorizing
agent, including the location, manner, and conditions of disposition and arrangements for

Section 34-8-7 Exemptions from chapter; subcontractor requirements. (a) The following shall
be exempted from this chapter: (1) The practice of general contracting, as defined in Section
34-8-1, by an authorized representative or representatives of the United States Government,
State of Alabama, incorporated town, city, or county in this state, which is under the supervision
of a licensed architect or engineer provided any work contracted out by the representative
shall comply with the provisions of this chapter for general contractor. (2) The construction

Section 40-18-19 Exemptions - Generally. (a) The following exemptions from income taxation

Section 34-14A-7 Applications for issuance or renewal of license; records; inactive license.
(a) Any residential home builder who desires to receive a new or renewal license under this
chapter shall make and file with the board 30 days prior to the next meeting of the board
