Section 45-8-241 Purpose; license or privilege fee; enforcement; exemption for religious practices.
(a) This section shall apply only to Calhoun County, Alabama, and to no other county. (b)
As used in this section, the following words and terms shall, except as otherwise provided
in this section, have the following meanings hereby ascribed to them: "the county"
means Calhoun County, Alabama; "the governing body" means the governing body of
Calhoun County, Alabama, whether it be a county commission, board of revenue, or other governing
body; "person" includes any natural person, partnership, corporation, firm, association,
trust, estate or other entity; and "business" includes all activities engaged in,
or caused to be engaged in, by any person with the object of gain, profit, benefit, or advantage,
either direct or indirect to such person; "license or privilege fee" shall not include

Section 45-3-84.65 Ad valorem and sales taxes - Certificate of assessment; valuation; disposition
of funds. (a) Every person, firm, or corporation residing in or owning a motor vehicle which
is principally used in Barbour County who desires to operate a motor vehicle on the public
highways of Alabama shall first be required to pay ad valorem taxes and sales taxes to the
judge of probate. The judge of probate shall issue a certificate of assessment on a form prescribed
by the State Department of Revenue, shall collect the tax as shown thereon, and shall make
a duplicate of the tax receipt and keep the receipt on file in the probate office for one

Section 32-6-62.1 Temporary registration and license plates for certain vehicles permanently
licensed in another jurisdiction. (a) Any person who takes delivery within this state of a
new passenger vehicle or new truck manufactured within this state of a gross weight not exceeding
8,000 pounds, from the manufacturer or an affiliated corporation, and if the vehicle is to
be permanently licensed in another jurisdiction, upon application to the judge of probate

pursuant to this subpart shall be privilege license and excise taxes in substance as follows:
