Section 45-25-91 DeKalb County Economic Development Authority. (a) There is created the DeKalb County Economic Development Authority. The authority is created for the purpose and has the responsibility of aiding and assisting current industries and coordinating efforts of all municipal and county agencies of DeKalb County, Alabama, as well as aiding organizations in the development of new industries which will provide job opportunities for the citizens of DeKalb County. (b)(l) The authority shall be governed by a board of directors consisting of seven members. Two of the seven members shall be appointed by the DeKalb County Commission. Three members shall be appointed by a majority vote of the legislators representing DeKalb County. Section 45-36-162 Distribution of payments. (a) Any payments coming into the treasury of Jackson County that are derived, directly or indirectly, from payments by the Tennessee Valley Authority in lieu of payment of taxes shall be appropriated as follows: (1) One percent to the Jackson County Economic Development Fund paid to the fund monthly until it reaches a balance of one million dollars ($1,000,000); the payments shall continue whenever the balance in the fund drops below one million dollars ($1,000,000).
