Section 36-27-6 Participation of employees of counties, cities, towns, public or quasi-public organizations, etc. - Generally. (a) The governing board of any county, city, town or public or quasi-public organization of the state or of any political subdivision thereof or the Alabama Extension Service and Agricultural Experiment Station System of Auburn University may, by resolution legally adopted to conform to rules prescribed by the Board of Control, elect to have its officers and employees from whatever sources and in whatever manner paid become eligible to participate in the retirement system; and the Adjutant General of the state, with the approval of the Governor, may, by application properly prepared and submitted in conformity with rules prescribed by the Board of Control, elect to have those employees of the Alabama National Guard employed pursuant to 32 U.S.C.A., Section 709, and paid from federally appropriated funds, become eligible to participate in this retirement system....

(a) For the purposes of this section, public assistance means money or property provided directly or indirectly to eligible persons through programs of the federal government, the state, or any political subdivision thereof, including any program administered by a public housing authority. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. Section 25-4-78 Disqualifications for benefits. An individual shall be disqualified for total or partial unemployment for any of the following: (1) LABOR DISPUTE IN PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. Section 41-27-61 Rules governing towing and recovery services; service charge dispute resolution process. (a) Subject to the Alabama Administrative Procedure Act, the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency shall establish rules governing the use of towing and recovery services for nonconsensual towing directed by the agency of commercial motor vehicles as defined by 49 C.F.R.
