Section 45-37-121.08 Director of personnel - Appointment; qualifications; salary; functions; deputy director. There shall be a director of personnel for each county affected by this part. The board shall appoint the director who shall hold office at the will of the board. The director shall be a bona fide resident of such county and a voter thereof and his or her salary shall be an amount as fixed by the personnel board from time to time which shall not be greater than fifty-four hundred dollars ($5,400) per annum. The director of personnel shall act as secretary at board meetings, and shall be the board's executive officer, but shall not have a vote in determining the board's policy.
