Section 45-45-231 Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission employees. All personnel employed by the Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission pursuant to subsection (b) of Section 16, Act 488, 1978 Regular Session (Acts 1978, p. 530), who have been certified by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission, shall have the same authority and powers vested in deputy sheriffs and all other peace officers of the State of Alabama. Any person released from jail pursuant to Section 45-45-233.20 shall pay to the county a sum equal to 25 percent of his or her gross earnings earned while so released. The court having jurisdiction of the case, as a condition to releasing a prisoner pursuant to this subpart, may require that the prisoner establish a payroll deduction for the payment of any sums due hereunder.
