Section 11-99B-1 Definitions. When used in this chapter the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) APPLICANT. A natural person who files a written application with the governing body of any county or municipality or public corporation in accordance with the provisions of Section 11-99B-3. (2) AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION. A resolution, adopted by a governing body in accordance with the provisions of Section 11-99B-3, that authorizes the incorporation of a district. (3) AUTHORIZING SUBDIVISION. Any county or municipality or public corporation the governing body of which shall have adopted an authorizing resolution. (4) BOARD. The board of directors of a district. (5) BONDS. Bonds, notes, and certificates representing an obligation to pay money. (6) COUNTY. Any county in the state. (7) DIRECTOR. Section 11-53B-7 Payment of costs. The municipality, in ordering any repair or demolition the cost of which or any part thereof is to be assessed against any property in accordance with this chapter, may provide that the same shall be paid in cash within 30 days after the final assessment; provided, however, that if the assessed amount is greater than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), the property owner may, at his or her election, to be expressed by notifying the municipal official charged with the duty of collecting the assessments in writing within 30 days after the final assessment is determined, pay the final assessment in 10 equal annual installments, which shall bear interest at a rate not exceeding 12 percent per annum.
