Section 45-8A-20.01 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this part, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) "Applicant" means a natural person who files a written application with the governing body of the city in accordance with the provisions of Section 45-8A-20.03. (2) "Authority" means the Anniston Downtown Development Authority, a public corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of this part. (3) "Authorizing resolution" means a resolution adopted by the governing body of the city in accordance with the provisions of Section 45-8A-20.03, that authorizes the corporation of the authority. (4) "Board" means the board of directors of the authority. (5) "Bonds" means and shall include bonds, notes, and certificates representing an obligation to pay money. Section 45-8A-71.13 Employees, officers, or officials removed, discharged, or demoted; proceedings; appeals. (a) The governing body of the city may remove, discharge, or demote any employee, officer, or official of the city who is subject to this part and who is directly under the governing body, provided that within five working days a report in writing of the action is made to the board, giving the reason for the removal, discharge, or demotion. (a) All weeds growing upon private property within municipalities of the state having a population of 300,000 inhabitants or more, according to the last or any subsequent federal census, which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature or attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous, may be declared to be a public nuisance by the governing body of any such municipality, and thereafter abated as in this section provided.
