Section 16-25-11.2 Purchase of credit for legislative service; option to be exercised and paid
for by October 1, 1988. (a) Whenever used in this section, all words and phrases defined in
Section 36-27-1, shall have the same meanings ascribed to them in such section, unless the
context clearly indicates that a different meaning is intended. (b) Any active and contributing
member of the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama who has been credited with at least 10
years of contributing membership service and, who has rendered full-time service as a legislative
employee may hereby claim and purchase credit for any such prior full-time legislative service
for which credit has not been granted in either the Teachers' or Employees' Retirement System.
(c) Any member eligible to claim and purchase credit for service under subsection (b) hereof,

in this state which have a population of not less than 175,000 nor more than 275,000 according

Section 36-26-36.1 Conversion of unused sick leave into membership service for retirement purposes.
(a) Any Tier I plan member of the Teachers' or Employees' Retirement System of Alabama not
otherwise covered by a provision to convert unused sick leave into membership service for
purposes of service retirement may, at their option and in lieu of receiving payment for 50

Section 27-15-78 Calculations of adjusted premiums by the nonforfeiture net level premium method.
(a) This section shall apply to all policies issued on or after the operative date of this

having accrued five or more years of credited service, shall become totally disabled to perform
his or her customary duties as an employee of the city and not be entitled to an extraordinary
