Section 16-24C-3 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. The chief administrative and executive
officer of an entity, institution, agency, or political subdivision of the state that is subject
to this chapter and includes, without limitation, superintendents of city or county boards
of education and presidents of two-year educational institutions operated under authority
and control of the Department of Postsecondary Education. The term includes persons serving
in such a capacity on an acting or interim basis under lawful appointment or by operation
of law. (2) CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE. All adult bus drivers, all full-time lunchroom or cafeteria

Section 34-8-7 Exemptions from chapter; subcontractor requirements. (a) The following shall
be exempted from this chapter: (1) The practice of general contracting, as defined in Section
34-8-1, by an authorized representative or representatives of the United States Government,
State of Alabama, incorporated town, city, or county in this state, which is under the supervision
of a licensed architect or engineer provided any work contracted out by the representative
shall comply with the provisions of this chapter for general contractor. (2) The construction
of any residence or private dwelling. (3) A person, firm, or corporation constructing a building

Section 15-20A-24 Adult sex offender - Relief from registration and notification. (a) At disposition,
sentencing, upon completion of probation, or upon completion of a term of registration ordered
by the sentencing court, a sex offender may petition the court for relief from the requirements
of this chapter resulting from any of the following offenses, provided that he or she meets
the requirements set forth in subsection (b): (1) Rape in the second degree, as provided by

Section 15-27-2 Petition to expunge records - Felony offense. (a) A person who has been charged
with a felony offense, except a violent offense as defined in Section 12-25-32, may file a
petition in the criminal division of the circuit court in the county in which the charges
were filed, to expunge records relating to the charge in any of the following circumstances:
(1) When the charge is dismissed with prejudice. (2) When the charge has been no billed by
a grand jury. (3)a. The charge was dismissed after successful completion of a drug court program,
mental health court program, diversion program, veteran's court, or any court-approved deferred
