Section 45-30A-50 Definitions. The following words, terms, and phrases, wherever used herein, shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, and shall include the singular as well as the plural: (1) ALLOCATION. Whenever a vacancy exists in any position in the service of the city, it shall be filled by appointment of a person on the appropriate eligible register of the board.
