Section 45-3-120.02 Establishment and guidelines. There is established a personnel system for Barbour County based on the following principles: (1) Recruiting, selecting, and advancing employees based on their ability, knowledge, and skills, including the open competition of qualified applicants for initial and subsequent appointment. (2) Providing fair and equitable pay based on a compensation schedule consistent with the principle of pay equity. (3) Providing training for employees, as needed, to assure quality job performance. (4) Retaining employees on the basis of county needs, adequacy of their performance, and meeting reasonable standards of conduct.
