Section 41-23-141 Advisory board of directors. (a) There shall also be created an Alabama Trails
Commission Advisory Board which shall advise the commission in the execution of the Alabama
Trails Commission's powers and duties under this article. The advisory board of directors
shall be composed of the following: (1) Two Senators appointed by the Lieutenant Governor.
(2) Two members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House. (3)
Three members of the Alabama Recreational Trails Advisory Board. (4) One member representing

Section 9-7-11 Purpose of chapter; legislative findings. The purpose of this chapter is to
promote, improve and safeguard the lands and waters located in the coastal areas of this state

Section 34-9-40 Creation; composition. (a) In order to accomplish the purposes and to provide
for the enforcement of this chapter, there is hereby created the board. The board is hereby
vested with the authority to carry out the purposes and enforce the provisions of this chapter.
On June 24, 1959, the members of the present board now in existence shall hold office for
the remainder of their respective terms for which they have been elected and thereafter until
