Section 40-23-5 Certain organizations and vendors exempt from payment of state, county, and
municipal sales and use taxes. (a) The Diabetes Trust Fund, Inc., and any of its branches
or agencies, heretofore or hereafter organized and existing in good faith in the State of
Alabama for purposes other than for pecuniary gain and not for individual profit, are exempted
from paying any state, county, or municipal sales or use taxes. (b) The Chilton County Rescue
Squad is exempted from paying any sales or use taxes. (c) The state headquarters only of the
American Legion, the American Veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, also known as

Section 45-2-261.10 Boards of adjustment. (a) The Baldwin County Commission shall appoint two
members to the boards of adjustment, and the regulations and ordinances adopted pursuant to
the authority of this subpart shall provide that the boards of adjustment, in appropriate

Section 45-43-246.87 Charge for collection. The collection agency may charge Lowndes County
for collecting the tax levied pursuant to this subpart in an amount or percentage of total
collections as may be agreed upon by the collection agency and the Lowndes County Commission.
The charge shall not exceed five percent of the total amount of the tax collected in the county.
The charge may be deducted each month from the gross revenues from the tax before certification
of the amount of the proceeds due Lowndes County for that month. The collection agency shall
pay into the Lowndes County General Fund all amounts collected under this subpart, as the
tax is received by the collection agency on or before the first day of each successive month.
The collection agency shall certify to the county commissioner the amount collected and paid

Section 45-44-150.14 Disposition of funds. (a) All fees, commissions, taxes, and other monies,
including fines and forfeitures, received under this part shall be paid to the treasurer of
the racing commission. All such monies remaining after payment of expenses incurred in the
