Section 28-3-190 Levy of tax; collection; disposition of proceeds by localities; enforcement
and administration; penalties; exclusive nature of tax. (a) Levy. In addition to the excise
tax levied by Article 5A of Chapter 3 of this title and the licenses provided for by Chapter
3A of this title and by Section 28-3-194, and any acts amendatory thereof, supplementary thereto
or substituted therefor, and municipal and county licenses, there is hereby levied a privilege
or excise tax on every person licensed under the provisions of Chapter 3A who sells, stores,
or receives for the purpose of distribution, to any person, firm, corporation, club, or association
within the State of Alabama any beer. The tax levied hereby shall be measured by and graduated
in accordance with the volume of sales by such person of beer, and shall be an amount equal
to one and six hundred twenty-five thousands cents (1.625 cents) for each four fluid ounces

Section 45-12-240.21 Reimbursement; duties of revenue commissioner; retrieval, voiding of license
for use of worthless instrument. (a) The Choctaw County Commission shall reimburse the office
of revenue commissioner from the general fund in the amount of any monetary loss, not to exceed
a total of four thousand five hundred dollars ($4,500) per annum arising or caused without
the personal knowledge of the officer, including loss arising from acceptance of worthless
or forged checks, drafts, money orders, or other written orders for money or its equivalent.
(b) It shall be the duty of the revenue commissioner to insure that the employees of his or
her office exercise due care in performing their required duties and make a diligent effort

Section 45-7-241 Levy of tax; disposition of funds; construction with state sales tax statutes.
(a) The following words, terms, and phrases as used in this section shall have the following
respective meanings except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) "Commissioner"

Section 32-8-34 Designated agents of department; bond of title service providers. (a) Each
judge of probate, commissioner of licenses, director of revenue, or other county official
in this state authorized and required by law to issue motor vehicle license plates shall by

Section 40-12-390 Definitions. The following words and phrases, when used in this article,
shall have the following meanings: (1) COMMISSIONER. The state Commissioner of Revenue. (2)

Section 45-16-84.20 Assessment and collection of motor vehicle taxes; issuance of licenses.
In Coffee County, the judge of probate shall perform all duties relative to the assessment
and collection of taxes on motor vehicles in Coffee County, which the revenue commissioner
is required under the general law to perform. The revenue commissioner shall be relieved of
all duties and responsibility relative to the assessment and collection of taxes on such motor
vehicles, and the judge of probate in all such counties shall have all duties and responsibilities
relative to the assessment or collection of taxes and issuance of motor vehicle licenses.
