Section 45-49-120.04 Supervisory committee. (a) There is hereby established the Supervisory Committee of the Mobile County Personnel Board. The supervisory committee hereby created shall succeed to and exercise all the rights, powers, and authority, and shall perform all the duties and functions now vested in and required of the Citizen's Supervisory Committee created by Act 470, 1939 Regular Session (Acts 1939, p. 298) and the Supervisory Committee of the Mobile County Personnel Board created by Act 167, 1955 Regular Session (Acts 1955, p. 431). Section 11-65-5 Composition of commission; terms; qualifications; removal from office. (a) Every commission shall have five members, which shall constitute its governing body. All powers of a commission shall be exercised by its members or pursuant to their authorization. Section 34-13-56 Grounds for revocation, suspension, or refusal to issue or renew licenses, etc.; hearing; fines. (a) The board may refuse to license any person or establishment for violation of this chapter. If the board refuses to issue, grant, or renew a license based on a violation of this chapter, including, but not limited to, violations listed in subsection (c), the licensee or prospective licensee may request a public hearing before the board to appeal the action of the board. The request for a public hearing shall be submitted to the board in writing within 14 calendar days after the date of the refusal. Section 34-27-36 Disciplinary action - Generally. (a) The commission or its staff may on its own, or on the verified complaint in writing of any person, investigate the actions and records of a licensee. The commission may issue subpoenas and compel the testimony of witnesses and the production of records and documents during an investigation. If probable cause is found, a formal complaint shall be filed and the commission shall hold a hearing on the formal complaint.
