Section 45-36-252.06 Bonds of the authority; obligations. (a) In addition to all other powers now or hereafter granted by law, the authority shall have the following powers, together with all powers incidental thereto or necessary to the discharge thereof in corporate form: (1) To sell and issue bonds of the authority in order to provide funds for any corporate function, use, or purpose, any such bonds to be payable solely out of one or more of the following: a. Any or all proceeds or receipts from the privilege, license, or excise tax levied on the sale, distribution, storage, use, or consumption of tobacco and certain tobacco products in Jackson County by Section 45-36-247. b. Section 11-92A-23 Special reserve funds and applications for appropriations. Section 14-2-20 Bonds - Investment of proceeds. Any portion of the principal proceeds derived from the sale of the bonds which the board of directors of the authority may determine is not then needed for any of the purposes for which the bonds are authorized to be issued shall, on order of the authority, be invested by the State Treasurer in any securities which are direct and general obligations of the United States of America or the principal of and interest on which are unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by the United States of America.
