Section 38-9B-5 AFT Corporation, Trust, and Charitable Trust. THIS SECTION WAS AMENDED BY ACT 2018-36 IN THE 2018 REGULAR SESSION, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 31, 2018. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. (a) The board of trustees shall establish and administer the AFT Corporation. The board of trustees shall execute all documents necessary to establish and administer the AFT Corporation including, but not limited to, documents to form a not-for-profit corporation and to qualify as an organization pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. (b) The AFT Corporation shall establish the AFT Trust and the AFT Charitable Trust, and the board of trustees shall administer the AFT Trust and the AFT Charitable Trust through the AFT Corporation. (a) The following items shall be deducted from federal taxable income for purposes of computing taxable income under this chapter: (1) Refunds of state and local income taxes. Section 45-3-84.65 Ad valorem and sales taxes - Certificate of assessment; valuation; disposition of funds. (a) Every person, firm, or corporation residing in or owning a motor vehicle which is principally used in Barbour County who desires to operate a motor vehicle on the public highways of Alabama shall first be required to pay ad valorem taxes and sales taxes to the judge of probate. Section 11-25-7 County Law Library Fund; audit, use, etc.; purchases exempt from taxes. Upon the establishment of a county law library under the provisions of this chapter each county shall have and maintain a separate fund known as the County Law Library Fund and may have a separate law library fund for each law library in the county.
