Section 45-41-141 Definitions. (a) The following words and phrases used in this part, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, shall be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) AMENDMENT 392. Section 11-51-120 Insurance companies - Fire and marine insurance companies. No license or privilege tax or other charge for the privilege of doing business shall be imposed by any municipal corporation upon any fire or marine insurance company doing business in such municipality except upon a percentage of each $100.00 of gross premiums, less return premiums, on policies issued during the preceding year on property located in such municipality. (a) A self-help business improvement district ordinance shall provide that the special assessment levied on the owners of the real property located within the geographical area of the district shall be collected by the district management corporation. (a) A municipality of this state may authorize the creation of a Local Neighborhood Infrastructure Authority to manage, coordinate, and collect voluntary assessments from homeowners and business owners to participate in revitalization projects in their respective neighborhoods. (a) An official court reporter shall be paid a salary by the state in an amount as shall be established by law, to be paid as other state employees are paid.
