Section 23-1-434 (This section terminates April 26, 2018, if no revenue is created.) Use of funds by municipality; Municipal Transportation Safety Fund Plan; annual report. (a) The monies distributed to a municipality from the fund shall be deposited in a separate fund maintained by the municipality and expended only for one or more of the following: (1) The maintenance, improvement, replacement, and construction of roads and bridges within a municipality's jurisdictional limits. (2) As matching funds for federal road or bridge projects. (3) The payment of any debt associated with a road or bridge project. (4) With the consent of the county, for the maintenance, improvement, or replacement of county-maintained roads and bridges within the municipality's jurisdictional limits. Section 25-4-16 Wages. (a) Prior to January 1, 1983, "wages," as used in this chapter, shall mean such remuneration as was defined in this section prior to such date. (b) On and after January 1, 1983, "wages," as used in this chapter, shall mean every form of remuneration paid or received for personal services, including the cash value of any remuneration paid in any medium other than cash. (a)(1) The excess arising from the sale of any real estate remaining after paying the amount of the decree of sale, including costs and expenses subsequently accruing, shall be paid over to a person or entity who has redeemed the property as authorized in Section 40-10-120 or any other provisions of Alabama law authorizing redemption from a tax sale, provided proof that the person or entity requesting payment of the excess has properly redeemed the property is presented to the county commission within three years after the tax sale has occurred.
