Section 45-8-90 Economic Development Council - Creation; composition; powers and duties. (a)(1) For the purposes of promoting industry and trade and economic development and to assist Calhoun County and the municipalities located therein in their pursuits therefor and to provide for the exercise by the county and the municipalities of certain powers and authority proposed to be granted to them by an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama, the act proposing such amendment being adopted at the same session of the Legislature at which the act adding this section was adopted, there is hereby created an economic development council for Calhoun County, which council shall constitute a public corporation under the name Calhoun County Economic Development Council. Section 16-6D-8 Tax credits; Failing Schools Income Tax Credit Account. (a) To provide educational flexibility and state accountability for students in failing schools: (1) For tax years beginning on and after January 1, 2013, an Alabama income tax credit is made available to the parent of a student enrolled in or assigned to attend a failing school to help offset the cost of transferring the student to a nonfailing public school or nonpublic school of the parent's choice. Section 31-13-16 Certain business expense deductions prohibited. (a) No wage, compensation, whether in money or in kind or in services, or remuneration of any kind for the performance of services paid to an unauthorized alien shall be allowed as a deductible business expense for any state income or business tax purposes in this state. This subsection shall apply whether or not an Internal Revenue Service Form 1099 is issued in conjunction with the wages or remuneration.
