Section 40-9B-3 Definitions. (a) For purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases mean: (1) ABATE, ABATEMENT. A reduction or elimination of a taxpayer's liability for tax or payments required to be made in lieu thereof. An abatement of transaction taxes imposed under Chapter 23 of this title, or payments required to be made in lieu thereof, shall relieve the seller from the obligation to collect and pay over the transaction tax as if the sale were to a person exempt, to the extent of the abatement, from the transaction tax. (2) ALTERNATIVE ENERGY RESOURCES. The definition given in Section 40-18-1. (3) CONSTRUCTION RELATED TRANSACTION TAXES. Section 25-14-9 Written contract; rights and duties of clients; employees, and professional employer organizations. (a) All professional employer organization arrangements shall have a written contract between the client and the professional employer organization recognizing the rights, responsibilities, and duties of each party. Section 45-8A-22.118 Maximum benefits; limitations; adjustments. (a) Annual Benefit and Final Regulations Under Internal Revenue Code Section 415. (1) Annual Benefit. For purposes of this section, "annual benefit" means the benefit payable annually under the terms of the plan, exclusive of any benefit not required to be considered for purposes of applying the limitations of Internal Revenue Code Section 415 to the plan, in the form of a straight life annuity with no ancillary benefits. Section 37-4-30 Obtaining electric service under a private contract; definitions. (a) No existing electric customer shall obtain electric service under a private contract for electric service without first giving written notice to the utility currently providing it retail electric service at least 45 days prior to the date on which the private contract for electric service is to become effective.
