Section 45-37-123.01 Definitions. For the purposes of this part, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ACT. The act adding this part, to be called the General Retirement System for Employees of Jefferson County Act. (2) ACTIVE MEMBER. An individual who currently is employed by the county or other entities set forth in subdivision (20) and is making employee contributions to the system. (3) ACTUARIAL EQUIVALENT. Effective July 30, 1984, or such other dates as set forth in Exhibit A, which is maintained in the office of the pension board, a form of benefit differing in time, period, or manner of payment from a specific benefit provided under the plan but having the same value when computed using the mortality tables, the interest rate, and any other assumptions last adopted by the pension board, which assumptions shall clearly preclude any discretion in the determination of the amount of a member's benefit. Section 25-4-78 Disqualifications for benefits. An individual shall be disqualified for total or partial unemployment for any of the following: (1) LABOR DISPUTE IN PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. For any week in which an individual's total or partial unemployment is directly due to a labor dispute still in active progress in the establishment in which he or she is or was last employed. For the purposes of this section only, the term labor dispute includes any controversy concerning terms, tenure, or conditions of employment, or concerning the association or representation of persons in negotiating, fixing, maintaining, changing, or seeking to arrange terms or conditions of employment, regardless of whether the disputants stand in the proximate relation of employer and employee. Section 31-2-80 Exemption from ad valorem taxes of property owned or leased by units of armed forces. All property, both real and personal, belonging to a unit of the armed forces of the state, officially recognized as such by the federal government, shall be exempt from ad valorem taxes, state, county, and municipal. This exemption shall apply to real property when leased to any unit of the Alabama National Guard, provided the agreement or contract of lease is approved in writing by the Adjutant General, while the same is under the custody and control of the National Guard unit, and said exemption shall not be vitiated should the National Guard organization sublease a part of the premises when the rental derived from such lease is used entirely and solely for the benefit of the National Guard organization, and when such sublease or permissive use shall be subject to immediate termination by the National Guard unit at the discretion of the Governor.
