Section 11-51-90.1 Definitions. As used in this article, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) BUSINESS. Any commercial or industrial activity or any enterprise, trade, profession, occupation, or livelihood, including the lease or rental of residential or nonresidential real estate, whether or not carried on for gain or profit, and whether or not engaged in as a principal or as an independent contractor, which is engaged in, or caused to be engaged in, within a municipality. (2) BUSINESS LICENSE. An annual license issued by a taxing jurisdiction for the privilege of doing any kind of business, trade, profession, or any other activity in that jurisdiction, by whatever name called, which document is required to be conspicuously posted or displayed except to the extent the taxpayer's business license tax or other financial information is listed thereon or unless the municipality affirmatively elects not to so require. Section 22-8A-4 Advance Directive for Health Care; living will and health care proxy. (a) Any competent adult may execute a living will directing the providing, withholding, or withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and artificially provided nutrition and hydration. Section 13A-9-150 Public assistance fraud; penalties. (a) For the purposes of this section, public assistance means money or property provided directly or indirectly to eligible persons through programs of the federal government, the state, or any political subdivision thereof, including any program administered by a public housing authority. (a) The board is hereby authorized to execute a contract or contracts to provide for the benefits or the administration of the plan determined in accordance with the provisions of this article. Section 22-52-10.6 Petition for renewal of inpatient commitment order; probate court; special judge; notice; hearing. (a) A petition for renewal of an inpatient commitment order may be filed by the director of a state mental health facility or his designee at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the current commitment order. The petition, together with a copy of the original commitment order and copies of any subsequent renewal commitment orders, shall be filed with the probate court of the county where the facility is located.
