Section 45-8-90 Economic Development Council - Creation; composition; powers and duties. (a)(1) For the purposes of promoting industry and trade and economic development and to assist Calhoun County and the municipalities located therein in their pursuits therefor and to provide for the exercise by the county and the municipalities of certain powers and authority proposed to be granted to them by an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama, the act proposing such amendment being adopted at the same session of the Legislature at which the act adding this section was adopted, there is hereby created an economic development council for Calhoun County, which council shall constitute a public corporation under the name Calhoun County Economic Development Council. (2) This section shall be liberally construed in conformity with the purposes. Section 17-3-60 Clerical assistance for judge of probate and board of registrars. The judge of probate may employ such assistants and clerical help as may be necessary to complete and properly prepare reports from the state voter registration list of the list of qualified electors which the judge of probate is required to furnish a certified copy to the election inspectors. Section 45-30-234 Work release program. (a) This section shall apply to Franklin County. (b)(1) BOARD. The Franklin County Work Release Board, which shall be composed of the following members: The judge of probate of the county, the sheriff of the county, and the chief deputy of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. (2) INMATE. Any person, male or female, convicted of a crime and sentenced to the county jail.
