continuance. Upon a complaint in writing made against any utility by any mercantile, agricultural
or manufacturing society, or by any body politic or municipal organization, or by any affected

Section 7-9A-201 General effectiveness of security agreement. (a) General effectiveness. Except
as otherwise provided in the Uniform Commercial Code, a security agreement is effective according
to its terms between the parties, against purchasers of the collateral, and against creditors.

Section 37-3-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter, where not

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 37-3-11 or any other provision of general law, local

Section 37-9-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:

Section 7-7-307 Lien of carrier. (a) A carrier has a lien on the goods covered by a bill of
lading or on the proceeds thereof in its possession for charges after the date of the carrier's
receipt of the goods for storage or transportation, including demurrage and terminal charges,
and for expenses necessary for preservation of the goods incident to their transportation
or reasonably incurred in their sale pursuant to law. However, against a purchaser for value
of a negotiable bill of lading, a carrier's lien is limited to charges stated in the bill
or the applicable tariffs or, if no charges are stated, a reasonable charge. (b) A lien for
charges and expenses under subsection (a) on goods that the carrier was required by law to
receive for transportation is effective against the consignor or any person entitled to the
goods unless the carrier had notice that the consignor lacked authority to subject the goods

Section 37-3-26 Collection of rates and charges. No common carrier by motor vehicle shall deliver
or relinquish possession at destination of any freight transported by it in intrastate commerce
until all tariff rates and charges thereon have been paid, except under such rules and regulations

Section 37-4-115 Violations; injunctions against persons operating without license or certificate.
(a) Any person or the officer, agent or employee of any organization who willfully violates
any provision of this article or of any rule, regulation or order adopted thereunder, or who
willfully procures, aids or abets any violation of such a provision, shall be guilty of a
