Section 8-17-230 THIS SECTION WAS ASSIGNED BY THE CODE COMMISSIONER IN THE 2018 REGULAR SESSION, EFFECTIVE MARCH 28, 2018. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) AMERICAN PYROTECHNICS ASSOCIATION. An association of the fireworks industry promoting safety and regulatory compliance in the design and use of legal fireworks. (2) ASSISTANT. A person who works under the supervision of a pyrotechnic operator in accordance with NFPA 1123, NFPA 1126, and NFPA 160. (3) CO-LEAD. A person who works under the supervision of a pyrotechnic operator in accordance with NFPA 1123, NFPA 1126, and NFPA 160 and is in training to become a pyrotechnic display operator or pyrotechnic special effects operator, or both.
