Section 36-27-100 Definitions. For the purpose of this article only the following words and
phrases shall have the following meanings: (1) LEGISLATURE. The House of Representatives,
the state Senate, the Legislative Fiscal Office, and the Legislative Reference Service office
of the State of Alabama. (2) FULL TIME EMPLOYEE. Any person who has worked continuously for
the House of Representatives, the state Senate, the Legislative Fiscal Office, or the Legislative
Reference Service office of the State of Alabama for three or more continuous years. (3) PART
TIME EMPLOYEE. Any person who has worked a minimum of 80 percent of the legislative sessions
for a period of seven or more years, and who works a maximum of six months per year, for the
House of Representatives, the state Senate, the Legislative Fiscal Office, or the Legislative

Section 17-6-81 Fair Ballot Commission; ballot statements. (a)(1) There is created the Fair
Ballot Commission. The purpose of the commission is to provide to the public a fair and accurate
explanation of what a vote for and what a vote against a statewide ballot measure represents.

Section 36-6-11 Longevity pay. (a) Each person employed by the State of Alabama, and all legislative
personnel, officers, or employees, including but not limited to Legislative Reference Service
personnel, whether subject to the state Merit System or not, shall be entitled to and receive
