Section 16-5-1 Definitions. The following terms shall have the meanings respectively prescribed for them, except when the context otherwise requires: (1) PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION. Those public educational institutions in Alabama which have been authorized by the Legislature or by the constitution to provide formal education, including vocational, technical, collegiate, professional or any other form of education, above the secondary school level. (2) COMMISSION. The Alabama Commission on Higher Education created by this article. (3) INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM. A series of courses at any one location which culminates in a degree, certificate or other formal recognition of academic credit. (4) UNIT. A school, college, division or institute and includes the establishment of any new branch or campus. Section 16-6F-7 Applicant proposals; conversion to public charter school; terms of charters; contracts. (a) Request for proposals. (1) To solicit, encourage, and guide the development of quality public charter school applications, every local school board, in its role as public charter school authorizer, shall issue and broadly publicize a request for proposals for public charter school applications by July 17, 2015, and by November 1 in each subsequent year. (a) No homeowners personal lines residential property coverage insurance policy shall be delivered or issued for delivery in this state unless an appropriate outline of coverage and comprehensive policy checklist have been delivered to the policyholder prior to issuance, within 30 days after issuance of the policy under separate cover, or included in the policy when issued or mailed.
