Section 17-5-2 Definitions. (a) For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) CANDIDATE. An individual who has done any of the following: a. Taken the action necessary under the laws of the state to qualify himself or herself for nomination or for election to any state office or local office or in the case of an independent seeking ballot access, on the date when he or she files a petition with the judge of probate in the case of county offices, with the appropriate qualifying municipal official in the case of municipal offices, or the Secretary of State in all other cases. b. Section 45-45-161 Distribution of payments. (a)(1) Pursuant to the authority granted by Section 40-28-2, Madison County's share of payments made by the Tennessee Valley Authority to the state in lieu of ad valorem taxes shall be distributed in the following manner: (1) Up to one percent of such payments each year shall be used to establish, equip, and maintain a legislative delegation office. All decisions concerning the Madison County Legislative Office including, but not limited to, revenue, income, or purchases shall be made by resolutions of the delegation adopted by a concurrent majority of the Madison County delegation, senators and house of representative members, each house voting separately. Section 36-27-24 Funds for assets of retirement system - Creation; composition; disposition of funds; appropriations. (a) Effective October 1, 1997, all the assets of the retirement system shall be credited according to the purpose for which they are held among three funds, namely, the Annuity Savings Fund, the Pension Accumulation Fund, and the Expense Fund. Section 5-18A-13 Duties of licensee. (a) A licensee may not knowingly enter into a deferred presentment transaction with a customer that has outstanding deferred presentment transactions from any lender at any location that exceeds five hundred dollars ($500) for the term of the loan. (b) Before a licensee shall present for payment or deposit a check or debit authorization accepted by the licensee, the check shall be endorsed with the actual name under which the licensee is doing business. (c) Any agreement for a deferred presentment transaction shall be in writing and signed by the checking account holder. Section 25-4-51 Rates of contributions, etc., by employers. (a) Contributions. Except as hereinafter provided and subject to the provisions of Section 25-4-54, every employer shall pay contributions, or payments in lieu of contributions, equal to the percentages of wages payable or paid as hereinafter set out, with respect to employment by him. Section 40-17-371 Cost of collection; distribution of tax proceeds. (a) The Alabama Department of Revenue shall retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the tax proceeds, less any refunds, from this additional excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for its cost of collection. The department may adopt rules and such forms as may be necessary for the administration of the excise tax provided for in this article.
