Section 35-9A-122 Exclusions from application of chapter. Unless created to avoid the application
of this chapter, the following arrangements are not governed by this chapter: (1) residence
at an institution, public or private, if incidental to detention or the provision of medical,
geriatric, educational, counseling, religious, or similar service; (2) occupancy under a contract
of sale of a dwelling unit or the property of which it is a part, if the occupant is the purchaser

Section 10A-10-1.15 Merger. (a) For purposes of this section, the following words shall have
the respective meanings ascribed to them: (1) ALABAMA REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST. A real
estate investment trust organized in compliance with the provisions of this chapter. (2) BUSINESS

Section 35-8A-221 Merger or consolidation of condominiums. (a) Any two or more condominiums,
by agreement of the unit owners as provided in subsection (b), may be merged or consolidated
into a single condominium. In the event of a merger or consolidation, unless the agreement
otherwise provides, the resultant condominium is, for all purposes, the legal successor of
all of the preexisting condominiums and the operations and activities of all associations
of the preexisting condominiums shall be merged or consolidated into a single association
that holds all powers, rights, obligations, assets, and liabilities of all pre-existing associations.

Section 45-3A-30 Renting or furnishing rooms, lodging, or accommodations; bed and breakfast
establishments. In the City of Clayton in Barbour County, in addition to all other taxes imposed
by law, there is levied a privilege or license tax in the amount herein prescribed against
every person within the city engaging in the business of renting or furnishing a room or rooms,
lodging or accommodations, to a transient in a hotel, motel, inn, condominium, house, any
bed and breakfast establishment, tourist court, or another place in which rooms, lodgings,
or to accommodations which are regularly furnished to transients for a consideration. A bed
and breakfast establishment, for purposes of this part, means an establishment recognized

by this chapter, it shall have all powers consistent with the purposes of the authority as

contracts, requiring the members to sell, for any period of time not over 10 years, all or
any specified part of their agricultural products or specified commodities exclusively to
