Section 35-12-71 Definitions. As used in this article, unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) APPARENT OWNER. A person whose name appears on the records of a holder as the person entitled to property held, issued, or owing by the holder. (2) BUSINESS ASSOCIATION. A corporation, joint stock company, investment company, partnership, unincorporated association, joint venture, limited liability company, business trust, trust company, safe deposit company, financial organization, insurance company, mutual fund, utility, or other business entity consisting of one or more persons, whether or not for profit. (3) DOMICILE. The state of incorporation of a corporation and the state of the principal place of business of a holder other than a corporation. (4) FINANCIAL ORGANIZATION. The tax collecting official shall make a correct record of all auctions and sales of tax liens in a durable book or an electronic file, which shall be known as the record of tax lien auctions and sales, containing all of the following: (1) The date of auction or sale. (2) A description of each parcel and uniform parcel number on which a tax lien was auctioned or sold. (3) The year of assessment to which the tax lien relates. Section 40-10-197 Action to foreclose the right to redeem and quiet title; notice requirements; effect of foreclosure; deed; expiration of certificate. Section 11-53A-25 Fixing costs of demolition; city to obtain lien. Upon demolition of the building or structure, the appropriate city official shall make a report of the governing body of the costs thereof, and the governing body shall adopt a resolution fixing the costs which it finds were reasonably incurred in the demolition and assessing the same against the property. The proceeds received from the sale of salvaged materials from the building or structure shall be used or applied against the cost of demolition. An owner's lien as provided for a claim which has become due may be satisfied as follows: (1) No enforcement action shall be taken by the owner until the occupant has been in default continuously for a period of 30 days. Section 45-43-170.04 Solid waste disposal - Fees; public nuisances. (a) The Lowndes County Commission shall by resolution provide for the orderly collection of fees charged under this article. The county commission may establish a periodic payment system and is authorized to purchase necessary supplies and materials and employ personnel necessary to effectuate any such periodic payment system. Such periodic payment system may be effected by the county by negotiating with any one or more public or private utilities providing service in the county for the periodic billing of such fees and the collection thereof on behalf of the county by one or more such utilities.
