Section 9-16-90 Environmental protection performance standards. (a) Any permit issued pursuant
to this article to conduct surface mining operations shall require that such surface coal
mining operations will meet all applicable performance standards of this article, and such
other requirements as the regulatory authority shall promulgate. (b) General performance standards
shall be applicable to all surface coal mining and reclamation operations and shall require
the operation as a minimum to: (1) Conduct surface coal mining operations so as to maximize
the utilization and conservation of the solid fuel resource being recovered so that reaffecting
the land in the future through surface coal mining can be minimized; (2) Restore the land
affected to a condition capable of supporting the uses which it was capable of supporting
prior to any mining, or higher or better uses of which there is reasonable likelihood, so

Section 12-17-224 Special services division; worthless check unit; guidelines for processing
worthless check complaints; fees and restitution; collection and distribution. (a) Each district
attorney may establish a special services division which shall be under the direction and
control of the district attorney, and shall be organized for the following uses and purposes:
(1) A section of the special services division of each district attorney's office may be organized
as a worthless check unit. Each district attorney who elects to establish the unit shall assign
sufficient staff and resources to effectively operate the unit. The worthless check unit of

Section 41-10-36 Definitions. Unless the context requires otherwise, the terms defined in this

Section 22-28A-3 Regulations, commitments relating to reduction of greenhouse gases. (a) Effective
immediately, the Director of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management shall refrain
from proposing or promulgating any new regulations intended in whole or in part to reduce
emissions of greenhouse gases, as such gases are defined by the Kyoto Protocol, from the residential,
commercial, industrial, electric utility, or transportation sectors unless such reductions

Section 40-23-4 Exemptions. (a) There are exempted from the provisions of this division and
from the computation of the amount of the tax levied, assessed, or payable under this division
the following: (1) The gross proceeds of the sales of lubricating oil and gasoline as defined
in Sections 40-17-30 and 40-17-170 and the gross proceeds from those sales of lubricating
oil destined for out-of-state use which are transacted in a manner whereby an out-of-state
purchaser takes delivery of such oil at a distributor's plant within this state and transports
